Rushil Mathur

Hi! I'm Rushil, an upcoming freshman at the Oxford University in Mathematics and Computer Science from Mumbai, India.

I am passionate about mathematics because it allows me to use my creative thinking and logical skills together to innovate. I want to inspire others to develop a lifelong love for mathematics so that they too can experience the joy of using their creativity to solve problems and make a difference in the world.

While I always had a keen interest in math, I only got introduced to its vastness and beauty when I began preparing for the mathematical olympiads. During my high-school, I represented India at the IMO 2024 and won a gold medal, and cleared the national math olympiad 3 times. I also had the opportunity of attending the Indian IMO training camp 2023 and 2024, as well as Math Beyond Limits - Balkans 2023, and the STEMS 2023 camp in CMI.

I also enjoy teaching olympiad math to high-school students from all over the country. As a part of this, I was the director of the Sophie Fellowship 2023-24, I teach students individually as an instructor at OTIS and have taken several lectures in OMC and other forums to further the interest in mathematics. This passion for teaching has also led me to writing a book on olympiad combinatorics

Apart from mathematics, I love playing the piano and I am always up for a match of bullet chess. I also enjoy coding in my free time and won a silver medal at INOI 2024 and bronze medals at INOI 2022 and 2023. This site has some details about my interests, as well as resources for the same.
